BonAccord
BonAccord is a collaborative venture between viola player Stephen Tees and myself on guitar. Here we explore the early jazz music of the 1920s, 30s and 40s - American swing jazz, European Hot Club of Paris gypsy jazz - as well as venturing into some Latin American tangos and Bosanovas. Traditional tunes are not neglected either and given a distinctly jazz-tinged feel.
Sweet Sue
This is a jazz standard from the 1930s that we have adapted by giving it a Latin rhythm.
Libertango
A piece by the classical Argentinian composer Piazzolla that we have arranged for guitar and viola. Tango anyone?
Chez Jaquet
A 3/4 piece written by the gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhart but never recorded by him. Here we have arranged it to give a more laid-back and playful Parisian Cafe feel.
Three slip jigs
A Scottish traditional slip jig, Brose and butter, followed by two Irish traditional slip-jigs, The rocky road to Dublin and The butterfly.
